Hermes Agent added models from four companies in three days

Hermes Agent gained model choices from Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI and Z.ai between September 20 and September 22, 2026, according to the project's public code history on GitHub. The menu that Hermes Agent users pick their model from now carries all four names. The version of Hermes Agent published on the evening of September 21 carries two of them, and the other two arrived the day after.

Who added what

Z.ai went in first. Its GLM-5.3 FlashX joined the model menus for Nous Portal and OpenRouter on September 20, which OneClickClaw reported the following day. xAI followed on September 21 with Grok 4.7, placed at the top of the list. Anthropic came on September 22 with Claude Opus 5.5. Later the same evening, OpenAI's GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna took the place of the older GPT-5.6 options. All four dates come from the project's public code history.

Nous Research, which builds Hermes Agent, published no blog post and no changelog about any of it. The newest entry on its releases page is dated February 25, 2026. The word came from the account of Teknium, a Nous Research co-founder, who wrote on September 22 that Claude Opus 5.5 "is now available in Hermes Agent via Nous Portal", and later that evening that GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna had arrived as well.

What each one costs

A model charges for the text it reads and the text it writes. That text is counted in tokens, which are small pieces of words, and the rates below are per million tokens. The figures come from the price list Nous Research publishes on its own portal, read on September 23, 2026.

The spread across that list is wide. GPT-6 Luna is listed at one fortieth of Claude Opus 5.5 on the text a model reads. On the same list, Claude Opus 5.5 sits at four dollars (€3.51) and twenty dollars (€17.53), while the earlier Claude Opus 5 sits at five dollars (€4.38) and twenty five dollars (€21.91).

The Grok 4.7 rate above carries a date. Nous Research wrote on September 21 that Grok 4.7 was half price for one week in Hermes Agent through its portal. On September 23 the portal showed one dollar (€0.88) and three dollars (€2.63) against a full price of two dollars (€1.75) and six dollars (€5.26).

Where the published version draws the line

The newest published version of Hermes Agent came out on the evening of September 21, 2026. Checking each of the week's changes against that release shows GLM-5.3 FlashX and Grok 4.7 inside it, and Claude Opus 5.5 and the two GPT-6 names outside it. Those two landed on September 22, the day after the release was closed. The notes for that release point readers to the next one, and the next one carries no date.

One name came back out

On September 23, 2026 the project took a third GPT-6 name, Terra, out of its menus. The reason given in the public code history is that OpenAI never published that tier. A check recorded alongside that change found Sol and Luna served by OpenAI, by OpenRouter and by the Codex catalogue, with no Terra among them.

How the menu is built

The Hermes Agent documentation, read on September 23, 2026, describes a picker with the providers a user has connected on one side and a shorter curated list of models on the other. It notes that a single provider's full catalogue can run past four hundred entries, including voice tools, image generators and rerankers, and that the shorter list holds the models Hermes Agent recommends for agent work. The same page describes giving a model a short nickname in the settings and then switching to it by that nickname.
