OpenClaw Hosting in Europe

Last updated: 2026-09-04

OpenClaw hosting in Europe means your agent, its memory and your AI keys sit on a server physically located in an EU member state, under EU data-protection law. OneClickClaw provisions a dedicated server in Denmark for every customer, installs and manages OpenClaw on it, and publishes the legal paperwork behind that claim. From EUR 14.99/month, with a 7-day free trial and no credit card.

Why host OpenClaw on a European server

An OpenClaw agent is not a stateless script. It keeps conversation history, memory files, channel tokens and the API keys of whichever AI provider you connect. Wherever the server is, that is where all of it lives. For a business in the EU, a freelancer with client data, or anyone who simply wants a clear answer to "where is my data", the server's country is the first fact that matters.

A server inside the EU keeps that data under GDPR, gives you a processor you can sign a Data Processing Agreement with, and avoids the transfer questions that come with a US-hosted box. It also means EU AI Act obligations are handled by an operator that is itself inside the EU.

Where your OpenClaw server actually lives

"EU hosting" is easy to write on a homepage. The table below is what it means on this platform, fact by fact, and each row links to the page where the detail is documented.

What GDPR compliance means for an AI agent

Three parties touch the data of a hosted agent: the hosting operator, the AI model provider, and you. OneClickClaw covers the first: an EU operator, an EU server, encrypted keys, a signed DPA and a public subprocessor list. The second is your choice. With BYOK you connect the provider yourself and pay them directly, so their data terms apply to the prompts your agent sends; several providers offer EU endpoints or zero-retention options, and the cost guide lists the common ones.

The third party is you, as the controller of whatever your agent is fed. A server in Denmark does not make an agent that stores customer records compliant on its own; it gives you a compliant place to run it and the documents to prove where the data is. That is the honest boundary of what hosting can do.

Six questions to ask any provider about EU hosting

These apply to us as much as to anyone else. Our answers are in the table above; use the list on every provider you compare.

  1. Which EU member state is the server in, and is that written in the contract or only on a marketing page?
  2. Is the server dedicated to you, or a shared container where another customer's agent runs next to yours?
  3. Where do backups and snapshots live? A Danish server with backups copied to a US bucket is not EU data residency.
  4. Who holds your AI provider keys, and are they encrypted at rest? With BYOK the provider bill and the keys stay yours.
  5. Is there a signed Data Processing Agreement and a public subprocessor list, or just the word "GDPR" on the homepage?
  6. What happens to the data when you leave: is there an export window, and is deletion confirmed?

EU regions at other providers

Most large VPS providers offer European regions, and several publish an OpenClaw page. The difference is what you get after checkout: a region picker and a bare Linux server, with Node.js, the OpenClaw install, the reverse proxy, SSL, firewall, updates and backups left to you. If you want a specific member state or city, that route gives you the choice; if you want OpenClaw running inside the EU without administering a server, the managed route does. The comparison page lists both kinds side by side, with each provider's advertised entry price and EU locations as read on their own pages, and the host OpenClaw page spells out the maintenance work of the do-it-yourself path.

OpenClaw hosting in Europe: common questions

Where exactly is my OpenClaw server located?
In Denmark, inside the European Union, on Webdock infrastructure with AMD EPYC processors and NVMe storage. Every customer gets a dedicated virtual server that is never shared with anyone else, and the server stays in Denmark for the life of the subscription.
Is OpenClaw hosting in Europe GDPR compliant?
OneClickClaw is operated from Greece (EU), hosts every customer server in Denmark (EU), and publishes its Privacy Policy, Data Processing Agreement, subprocessor list and Acceptable Use Policy. Your conversations, API keys and agent configuration live only on your own server. GDPR compliance for your agent as a whole also depends on which AI provider you connect and what data you feed it; the cost guide and security pages explain that split.
Does the EU AI Act apply to a self-hosted OpenClaw agent?
Parts of it can. OneClickClaw publishes the Article 50 transparency disclosures that apply to an AI system interacting with people, so anyone talking to your agent can be told they are talking to an AI. Obligations for the AI models themselves sit with the model providers you choose to connect (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Mistral and others).
Can I pick a different European country or city for the server?
Not at the moment. Every plan is provisioned in Denmark. If your compliance rules require a specific member state, the plain VPS providers listed on our comparison page offer region pickers, at the cost of installing and maintaining OpenClaw yourself.
Does a European server make OpenClaw faster for European users?
The agent's chat traffic and its API calls to your AI provider both leave from Denmark. For messaging channels such as Telegram, Discord and WhatsApp, the round trip to the platform matters more than the server's continent. The practical benefit of the EU location is data residency and a legal framework, not raw speed.
